Lung Cancer

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related mortality in the United States, despite steady declines in incidence and death rates over recent decades. Early detection through lung cancer screening (LCS) is critical, yet screening uptake remains low nationwide, limiting its potential impact on outcomes. Expanding the effective implementation of evidence-based screening, improving risk assessment, and integrating LCS into routine clinical care are essential to reducing late-stage diagnoses.
